Comtech Telecommunication Corp. reached an agreement to provide The Heights Networking Platform service to manage Chinese satellite communications. Business Wire notes that Comtech has received $1.6 million in orders from China Mobile, the country’s largest Mobile Network Operator (MNO).
“We are excited that this MNO selected our Heights solution to support its mobile services over satellite today and to prepare for the future roll out of 5G services,” said SVP Richard Swardhm, MNO of Comtech EF Data. “We have yet again proven to have the highest quality of experience across all generations of mobile technology.”
China’s purchase will help shore up its existing mobile backhaul and aid with teleport technologies. The technological boost is expected to help improve latency issues and minimize jitter. The Comtech EF Data Corp division is specifically focused on satellite bandwidth efficiency and link optimization.
