Huawei Technologies suffered a setback from a massive fire at a research and development lab in the southern city of Dongguan, China. Local officials said the fire claimed three lives, according to Reuters. The local fire department said the blaze may have come from flammable sound-absorbing cotton produced by the facility.
The fire was eventually extinguished by the Dongguan City Fire Rescue Department.
The laboratory does testing for 4G and 5G antennas, as well as materials research, according to Reuters’ sources.
