NJWA Committees

Our committees are responsible for NJWA’s operations, including events, public relations, government relations, and more. Their work provides our members, sponsors, and government officials with access to the finest experiences and resources.

Event Planning

Mission: To continually orchestrate and plan the most exciting, noteworthy and fantastic wireless events within the many thrilling venues of New Jersey. Facilitating energetic and lively gatherings thus creating a foundation for beneficial and informative wireless communications and discussion on the industry’s leading topics.

Website/Social Media/Public Relations

Mission: To communicate and connect members and board members of the NJWA. To promote the advancement of the wireless industry through education, awareness and opportunity. To practice transparent communications as well as provide resources and a sense of community for NJWA’s membership base. To bring awareness to NJWA both within and outside the organization. To publicize and promote events.

Sponsorship

Mission: To promote the advantages of becoming an NJWA sponsor to industry companies. To contact NJWA members and other interested organizations and request that they (1) become an annual sponsor or (2) become an event sponsor during any one calendar year.

Government Affairs and Education

Mission: To keep NJWA up-to-date with changes in state and federal laws that affect the wireless industry. To inform the public and elected officials of the many benefits of wireless communications. To keep all interested parties, including municipal officials, informed as to the proper regulatory framework that encourages competition and the removal of barriers to the prompt and efficient deployment of wireless infrastructure.

Safety, Engineering, Environmental and Construction (SEEC)

Mission: To keep members up-to-date and connected with the latest information relative to safety, engineering, environmental and construction related events and opportunities. This includes training classes, seminars, panel discussions and other educational sessions provided by knowledgeable and experienced trained professionals within the wireless industry. 2021 update: to manage a utility sub-committee that will include members of New Jersey’s largest utilities that practice wireless co-location. The goal of the sub-committee is to work with NJWA members to share information on the policies and processes implemented by the utilities and how members can work within those parameters and have better partnerships with the utilities.

Public Safety

Mission: To provide education and information to NJWA members and elected/appointed officials on the issues and needs of the first responder community for improved narrowband and broadband communication systems. The 911 systems and First Responder networks are a critical part of the public safety infrastructure. Investing in new technologies is an ongoing requirement. To provide a forum for discussing related issues and communicate to the community through webinars, education events and white papers. To network with organizations such as the New Jersey Association of Counties (NJAC) in our communications programs.

Strategic Planning

Mission: To evaluate and plan the growth and effectiveness of NJWA. To establish NJWA as the national gold standard in state wireless associations.  To work with NJWA board members, associated committees and outside resources within the wireless community to ensure the effectiveness of the organization. To lead new initiatives that will help expand the value of NJWA both in the industry and the community.

Charity

Mission: To make donations to charitable organizations in New Jersey.  To collect nominations from the board of trustees for charities that directly benefit from NJWA’s contributions. To research and present verified charitable organizations to the board of trustees for selection each year. To work with charities throughout the year to help educate NJWA membership on their missions and assist charities’ efforts with our annual donations.
